Mission and Vision
Panchayat's General Vision
The main Vision is to function as a democratic institution at the grassroots level, and to build a society that is inclusive, sustainable, and self-sufficient.
That is, to function as a local self-governance institution with popular participation, where the needs of all citizens are considered and their standard of living is improved.
Panchayat's General Mission
The primary Mission undertaken by the Panchayat to realize this vision includes:
- Governance and Services: To ensure transparent and efficient governance, and to make all necessary services available to citizens in a time-bound manner.
- Development Projects: To identify local needs and plan and implement development projects (e.g., roads, water, electricity, sanitation, education, and health).
- Social Justice: To ensure social justice by giving special consideration to the vulnerable and backward sections of the society.
- Economic Development: To implement schemes that help create employment opportunities and reduce poverty at the local level.
- Public Participation: To ensure active participation of the public in the decision-making process through Gram Sabhas (Village Assemblies) and Standing Committees.
- Environmental Protection: To promote sustainable and eco-friendly development through waste management and water conservation.
In short, the fundamental mission of a Panchayat is to work for the comprehensive development of the village and the welfare of its people.
